Spring break is officially here! Which actually means nothing to me now that I am an adult with two young kiddos. But somehow my husband can still surprise me with a trip – so it’s a little like spring break 2018 for us. Only for two nights, you know, because we are party animals!
So I’m packing up my bag, but I wanted to make sure I traveled comfortably, but also kind of cute. I mean, who wants to look like they just rolled out of bed? I prefer the put together, but also don’t want to try too hard. Between the security line and being cold on the plane, I need something easy, something layered, and something that looks effortless.
What comes in? Spanx leggings. These are so amazing, I kind of want to live in them. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. I actually have the Moto leggings on my wish list, but until then, I’ll keep wearing my faux leather Spanx.
I love these January tee’s from Free People. They are swingy and lightweight, so I can layer them easily, and not too low that I feel like I’m nervous to bend over.
I’m always generally cold on planes, so I layer my denim jacket. It’s also great to take on trips because it can go over a dress or jeans if the evenings or restaurants are on the cooler side.
Sneakers are easy to wear while traveling because in case of short layovers or gate changes, you’re ready to run. I’ve always been a sneaker girl anyway, but slip ons would also be great to wear if you don’t want to deal with laces. Plus, I hate taking my shoes off through security – I may be going to a warmer climate, but I don’t need my bare feet on the airport carpet.
Finally, a good bag. If traveling with kiddos, a backpack is a great option to be hands free to hold whatever else the kids hand you. Or just you and your spouse, well, gives you a free hand to hold your coffee.
Hopefully you are off for a getaway soon, and I hope you travel in style and in comfort!
