I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Nordstrom is having the Annual Anniversary Sale starting tomorrow for card holders and opening to everyone on July 20. If you’ve been following any fashion bloggers, you’ve probably heard them chat about it – and share some ideas of what to add to their cart.
And if you’ve followed along with anyone for more than a year, you know how big this sale can get! This is a great opportunity to stock up on the fall and winter items you’ve been wanting (or didn’t know you wanted). It’s also a chance to grab some of the items your kids may need. I like to grab winter coats for my kiddos and shoes if they are on sale.
It’s easy to go crazy on the sale because everyone else is going a little crazy too. Just beware that items go fast, especially the items that bloggers post about over the next few weeks. So what do you do – keep in mind your budget and be ready to go over it just a little. Warn your spouse now. Why go over? Because you can return things you don’t like and you don’t want to miss out on an item that you really love. Plus if you’re not going in the store, you’re probably going want to try on multiple sizes or styles – Nordstrom has one of the best return policies and you can take full advantage.
You can browse the catalog here before the sale begins tomorrow. And here are the top items that I like to shop during the sale: *FYI, not all of these items may be on the sale, but are examples of what could be*
Shoes and booties. This is one of my favorite times to get the booties I covet on sale. I wore the last few pairs I got last year all fall and winter long. Best investments ever. Below are some styles that I’m hoping are included this year. I’ll be sure to update my favorites as the sale gets started.
Cardigans and sweaters. Do you have a Barefoot Dreams cardigan? This is your chance to snag one. They definitely live up to the hype of being amazing, so if they go on sale, snatch one up. I promise you’ll be living in it all winter long. You’ll also want to add some of the fun cardigans to put over basic tees and button downs.
Coats. Besides grabbing coats for the kiddos, here is a chance to grab one or two for yourself. I’m still wearing one classic black coat from two years ago during the sale. Yes, you can keep wearing a coat that is in style. It’s also fun to add a coat that you may think is a little trendy – if it’s on sale, grab it, try it, and if you don’t love it, return it to the store.
Bags. Waiting to make a nice bag investment? Now is your chance. The sale always has some great options of designer bags on sale and if you’ve been eyeing a certain bag, it’s a great time to pick one up without breaking the bank. Below are some bags that would be great to add to your classic closest.
Other items. After you add some your favorites to your bag, look around for some other items that may catch your eye. Belts, hats, and scarves can be perfect for yourself or keep them as gifts for the holidays.
So if you’re hesitating about spending a little money, don’t be. Now is the time to grab the pieces that you want, whether it be two or ten. But if I have one little tip for you, it’s this: don’t just add something to your bag because everyone else is doing it. If you like a certain shoe or sweater, grab it, don’t let it be just what’s trendy. Make sure it’s your style and something you’re going to wear.
Also, have fun! This sale is exciting and fun and an opportunity to forget about the heat wave going on across the country. While I don’t wish the summer to be over, I’m ready for some cool fall weather!
Be sure to check back to see what items are popping up the in the sale.
