Surprise! We’re expecting baby number three this January! It’s been a lot of the reason I’ve been behind on posting. Not that I want to make excuses, but holy first trimester sickness! You’d think I’d be used to a little nausea, but so far this baby is telling me who’s boss.
So what’s the word?
Well, after trying for a while, we found out that we were pregnant Mother’s Day weekend. It was a bit of a shock after being disappointed for awhile, but also so sweet that we found out that special weekend. I think I’ve still been in a state of shock since finding out, and I’ve been overly nervous. And while it sounds odd, with every bought of nausea, it made me feel a little better that this babe was safe and growing like they should.
Sharing our secret
We waited for as long as we could to tell our boys. There was a little bit of worry that they would tell their daycare teachers and friends, and while I was basically showing the moment I took the test, it was really hard not to share. But they were so excited and our oldest is already saying he’s so excited for his baby sister. (We honestly have no idea what the sex is yet!) Our younger boy is still clueless…let’s hope he’s okay with sharing his mama come January.
Telling our parents was fun – we dressed the boys in shirts and waited for their reactions. For my parents, this is grand baby number 10, and they were just as excited to hear as they were for one through nine. My husbands parents were just as excited and I think a little in shock, I don’t think they suspected our news.
We could have told the world a little earlier, but I wanted to wait for just one more doctors appointment. Hearing the heartbeat just eases my worry a little more. But now, the word is out!
Behind the scenes
You may be wondering what will happen with this little space. Hopefully I’ll be able to continue to work and actually put more effort into posts now that I’m feeling better. I’ve really loved having something that is my own and hope to continue to grow it even more.
As for the leggings? Well that for sure is staying put. If you caught onto my Nordstrom round up, I pretty much chose items that I could wear with leggings or sized up a bit for a few things to accommodate a growing belly. I even bought maternity leggings that I didn’t share…that would have been a little obvious.
While I’ll share some of my maternity picks, because let’s be honest, this mama can’t always squeeze into non maternity items, I’ll also still share my picks for things non-maternity.
I hope I can continue to inspire you to make your closet one you enjoy going into! So I hope you follow along as I not only grow, but grow this little space as well.
