I have a love for all things leopard. Well, in moderation and in the right scenario of course! But I think of leopard as a neutral most of the time – pair it with basics, throw it on with stripes or plaid, and dress it up for a night on the town.
If you’re struggling to figure out how to add this pattern into your wardrobe, look no further. I have three ways to wear it: casual, dressed up, and appropriate for work. Your boss probably doesn’t need you to show up to your 9 am meeting in a full on leopard pant suit.
First up: casual. My favorite ways to start incorporating the dark print is through accessories: think shoes, belts, earrings, bags. This is especially helpful if you’re a little shy from going full-blown animal print.
Ready for date night? Add a little animal print into your outfit. From fun and flirty dresses to faux leather leggings, leopard can be fun to dress up your date night. I included a maternity dress that I think can be good for work too – and while one of my dresses is a splurge, it’s a great silhouette that can be worn from fall into winter.
Taking leopard into work can be tricky. You don’t know want to look like you’re heading out on the town, but you can also take chances. I love the looks of the classic pieces of pencil skirts and button downs. I kept it simple and paired them with your basic black pieces. Make your leopard stand out, but tone it town with black trousers and black tops. Need to pair it down more? Wear a black or white button down with dark pants or a dark skirt and add a leopard belt or leopard shoe.
In each these looks, I added a few extra leopard pieces. If you’re wanting to try it out, start small with your accessories, but I have feeling you’ll be wearing a leopard dress or cardigan by the end of the year!
Happy shopping, you animal!
